Rats, Mice, Squirrels

Rats, Mice and squirrels are all considered rodents. They are looking for food, water, and shelter. They are expert survivalists. They chew and gnaw constantly as a way to decipher their surroundings. If you are hearing noises on your roof, noises inside your attic, noises in your sub area, or noises in your walls, we can perform a thorough full spectrum inspection of your home or business to identify and eliminate entry points that the critters are utilizing.

Raccoons, Skunks, Possums

The main thing that we would be addressing in this instance is a potential food source. If you see digging and clawing in your lawn this could be raccoons or skunks searching for grubs. This is a common food source for these critters. Especially if a piece of the lawn is rolled back this is indicative of raccoons finding a “eureka” spot for grubs in the lawn. Our best approach is to perform a thorough lawn treatment with a material that focuses on grubs. The pest management approach here is to eliminate the food source in order to eliminate the critter activity.

Skunks will also burrow with a small half moon shaped hole under fences, decks, and even under homes. Skunks are best known for their delightful odor and their high breeding season in February. This is why Pepe Le Pew was always in love. He’s looking to breed on Valentines Day. Apparently skunks are not much different from us humans :P For Pepe our approach would be to seal locations in the structure (typically home, deck, or shed) that can be utilized as access points. We would install a one way door up to the digging hole or main access point so the critter can escape unharmed and go and find shelter elsewhere. Once we feel he has exited we will then seal up that final entry point. We warranty all the points that we seal for 1 year.

Raccoons are amazing creatures. They are kind of like a mix between a cat and a baby. They are expert climbers and they also have opposable thumbs and can grab and manipulate things with their hands (double whammy). They are very curious creatures, and they will eat anything. Raccoons typically enter structures looking for shelter when they are ready to have babies. This is typically April or May. A litter is 3-7 cubs. Baby raccoons actually make very curious noises, they sound like little pterodactyls and are sometimes mistaken for bird noises. Raccoons are the critters that will outright rip off a sub area vent at the base of your home with their hands and gain access into your sub area. The approach for Raccoons is the same as above. Eliminate their food source in the lawn, with a specified lawn treatment. And seal around the sides of a deck, shed, sub vents into a home, or structure that they are entering.

Raccoons can also climb up onto the rooftop and gain attic access. If you are hearing any noises on the roof, noises in the attic, noises in the sub area or walls, Patriot Pest management can perform a full spectrum inspection of the home or business to identify and eliminate access points.

Fleas

Fleas need a host to survive. If critters are passing through your yard or using your structure as a shelter, you may be experiencing fleas. Once the critter leaves, some of the fleas that may be left behind will need to find a host so they can get their next meal. This is when people begin to notice flea activity as they are looking for a new host. Raccoons, possums, skunks, rats, mice, squirrels, all of these critters can carry fleas. Patriot can perform a flea treatment in and out. But also a main focus of flea eradication may be identifying a host critter that is living in or around the home.
